Hornets 2019 Team Preview

2/20/19: Hornets are ready to sting the competition in 2019, with six returning starters, including preseason All-State guys Joey Torok and Seann McGill.

Alfieri's Walk Off leads Hornets past Beachwod

4/24/19: Mike Alfieri's walk off single in the 8th inning got Kirtland a 3-2 win vs. Beachwood.

Kirtland Sweeps Cardinal

4/22/19: The Hornets moved to 7-0 in the CVC with a sweep of the Huskies.

Hornets lose 2 tough luck games to start the year

3/28/19: Kirtland fell in the season opener 8-1 in the opener to RIverside, after being tied 1-1 in the 6th inning. Andrew Spencer threw 5.1 innings of 1 hit ball to lead the Hornets, Seann McGill was 2-3 with a double. In game 2, Kirtland fell 4-3 to Benedictine who is ranked #21 in the Division 2 State Power Rankings. Mason Sullivan threw a complete game gem in a losing effort, and Joey Torok paced the offense, going 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI's.

Kirtland get first win vs. Maple Hts.

3/29/19: The Hornets picked up their first win of 2019 with a 15-5 victory over Maple Hts. Mason Sullivan went 3-4 with and 3 doubles, Joey Torok was 2-3 with 4 steals and 2 RBI's, Joey Mongelluzzi was 2-2 with a double, 3 runs, 3 RBI's and 3 steals, Nick RIbic was

2-3 with a double and 3 RBI's, and Logan Potosky for his first career varsity hit and RBI.

Hornets open up Conference Play with a WIN

4/3/19: Kirtland opened up conference play on the road at Wickliffe. Despite being quite the cold day, the Hornets had 11 hits on the way to a 4-2 victory. Andrew Spencer picked up his first career varsity victory on the hill, and Joey Torok paced the offense, going 2-3 with 3 steals.

Dever's Walk Off Hit leads Hornets past Wickliffe

4/4/19: In the bottom of the 8th, after a Mason Sullivan double, Jack Dever stepped up to the plate, and hit a line drive single to left, scoring Sullivan and winning the game 5-4 over Wickliffe. Mason Sullivan threw 6 solid innings, getting a no decision, while Seann McGill came in for 2 innings to pick up the win. Joey Torok had a double and a triple, Seann McGill was 3-3, and Joey Mongelluzzi had 2 hits as well to lead the offense.
