Torok & McGill named to the preseason All-State teams
3/17/19: Kirtland Seniors Joey Torok and Seann McGill were named preseason All-State by PBR Ohio.

Kirtland Has 2 Tough Luck Losses to Open the Season
3/28/19: On Monday (March 25th) the Hornets opened up the year with an 8-1 loss at Riverside. Trailing 1-1 in the bottom of the 6th, the bullpen had trouble shutting down the Beavers on a very cold day. Sophmore starting pitcher Andrew Spencer threw 5.1 innings of 1 hit ball in his first career varsity start. Seann McGill went 2-3 with a double, scoring our only run, and Jaymes Torok added to hits along with our only RBI. In our second game of the season (March 27th), Sophomore Mason Sullivian threw a complete game gem in a losing effort, along with doubling off the fence in the 4th inning. Joey Torok led the offense going 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI's.

Hornets beat Maple Hts. to Get First Win of 2019
3/29/18: The Hornets got their first win of the year with a 15-5, victory over Maple Heights. Multiple guys had good days at the plate today for us. Mason Sullivan led the way going 3-4 with 3 doubles and 3 runs, Joey Torok was 2-3, with 2 RBI's and 4 steals, Joey Mongelluzzi was 2-2 with 3 runs, 3 RBI's, a double and 3 steals, Nick Ribic was 2-3, with a double and 3 RBI's, and Logan Potosky was 1-1 with his first career hit and RBI. Jacob Hommel got the win on the mound, and Chris Miller came in for 2 innings to close it out.

Kirtland Sweeps First Conference Series verse Wickliffe
4/5/19: The Hornets won both games in our conference opening series against Wickliffe. On Wednesday, Kirtland defeated Wickliffe 4-2 on the road. Andrew Spencer picked up his first career pitching victory, Joey Mongelluzzi and Joey Torok lead the way with 2 hits, Seann McGill had 2 RBi's. Wickliffe came to visit Kirtland on Thursday, and the Hornets won this game 5-4 in 8 innings, with a Walk Off Hit from Jack Dever in the bottom of the 8th inning.

Hornets Earns a Series Sweep Over Independence
4/9/19: Kirtland moved to a 4-0 start in the CVC Valley this year after a 17-5 win Monday on the road, and a 12-2, 5 inning run rule on Tuesday at home. Andrew Spencer picked up the win Monday and Mason Sullivan got the complete game victory on Tuesday. In the series, Reese VanArnhem had 4 hits with 5 RBI's, Mike ALfieri had 4 hits with 4 RBI's, Seann McGill had 3 hits with 6 RBi's, Joey Torok reached base 7 times and stole 8 bases, and Andrew Deluaro, Nick Ribic, and Mason Sullivan all recorded 2 or more hits in the two game series.

Kirtland Anticipates District Title Defense
4/11/19: The Hornets are off to a good start, and looking to repeat as District Champions in 2019.

Andrew Spencer Named News Herald "Player of the Week"
4/25/19: Sophomore pitcher Andrew Spencer was named News Herald "Player of the Week" after throwing 2 complete game victories against Cardinal and Berkshire. He struck out 14 batters in 14 innings, giving up 1 Earned Run.
